New players think that SteamID means their friends name.

The SteamID is a number that looks like STEAM_0:1:20391503

Go into a game in source, and open up your console (~) and type "status"

the number that looks like that following your name is what we need.

If you have any trouble, just post here.

I dont know if you know about n00bfest humor or not since you don't know what a steam id is I'm thinking you probably haven't been around a lot so don't take your vote seriously.
