 Firefox
i wuz using Mozilla Firefox (web browser) the other day and it said sometning like 'the profile you have been using is currently in use, you need to make a new one' (or something like that) i didn't know why this happened since i haddent done anything diffrent then what i normally do...so i 'x''ed out...i tryed to go back into Firefox, but the same message came up...so im like, what the heck, i created a new profile...except...all my bookmarks, and stuff like that is gone...does anyone know how to switch profiles so i can get back into my old profile...and does ne one know y this happened...

I had that happen, just search for profiles or something in help on google it, i don't remember how I did it.

That happened to me too. I think I just restarted. It happened a couple of times after that but stopped. Try making sure you have firefox updated and stuff.

THIS IS WAHT YOU DO IN THAT SITUATION. CTRL+ALT+DEL AND SIMPLY CLOSE THE FIREROX.EXE

in the future ill keep CTRL+ALT+DEL in mind...i didn't know that at the time...i NEED to now how to get my old profile back...how do i switch profiles?

i just foun out how to switch profiles...i exit firefox completely...check task manager..its not running..select 'default' profile(the one i was using) hit 'Start Firefox' and it says 'Firefox cannot lauch selected profile. It is in use. Select another profile or create a new one.'

 OH EMM EFF GEE
i found out where the profile data was...it was like freakin hidden..i go to
C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\ i look for the folder application data..its not freakin there...i search for Firefox...find data about profile...its in C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Applicaton Data\Mozilla\Firefox even though i couldn't find the folder...im just gonna copy all that CRAP...uninstall firefox then reinstall...and PASTE it all back in...
oh and BTW, somehow i screwed up Firefox so it doesn't launch..im using IE...

please tell me you're kidding. CTRL-ALT-DEL works every time for that problem. There is some other setting that you can change to fix that, but you don't need to worry about it unless it happens frequently.

Joe,
Go to this page and read the stuff about where profile related files are located, to make sure you didn't accidently move or delete anything before when you were messing with files. Then look at the area where it says What to do if my Profile is Corrupted ? You might also be able to fix the firefox with the profile manager, possibly (so try that first).

i think with profiles you cant have like a person named jim bob and have his style of firefox (sicne they got templates and all if you go to tools downloads)
and then goose eggs style of firefox
