Post game freezes
Occassionally (enough to be a problem) everything will just stop for 10-20 seconds. i still see the last frame but i cant move, shoot, or do anything, if i was walking at the time of the freeze then my guy will appear to be walking in place on my screen (gun moving up and down but i'm not going anywhere). when it comes out of its freeze I'm usually in spec mode because of my death during the freeze or just a couple steps away from where i was when i froze, there is no rapid catch up that is sometimes seen with lag. that 10-20 seconds of freeze time almost always ensures my death. when spectating i never see this problem happen to other people so must be a setting or other problem i'm having.

I'm running a 2.6ghz p4, geforce fx 5200 128mb AGP, 1280 mb of RAM, 2.5 ghz cable modem that goes through a router before my comp. only thing I believe could be the problem is the router, and if so i wouldn't know how to fix it.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated since i've dealt with this freeze on every server i've been on my entire CS life.

not wireless, cable going from modem to router, then cable from router to my comp.

it's a linksys router connecting the cable modem to 2 comps. the speed is 2500 MB/s . quite fast and the only online game i play where it locks up like this is CS.

very interesting, i dont know if CS runs on any other ports than any other Steam game, but you can look into it. your router could bo slower on some ports than others. But HIGHLY doubt this situation, in fact i think steam runs on one port and the games it hosts follows it. So GL, ill do some looking into it for you.

Spyder,

First of all, try running net_graph 3 and evaluate your choke and loss during these problems. Tell me what you get.
