I'm getting weeks away from building my new system and I'm stuck in a quandry. Intels i7 3930 6 core processor or the i7 2700 4 core? The 3930 rates higher in benchmarks but not by much. So do you guys think it's worth the extra $200? |

Nope nope for gaming I don't believe you need anything more than the 2500K. |

Go with the I7 2700 (k edition?) for overclocking to help be future proof.. Since the i7 supports hyper threading you will have 4 physical cores and 4 virtual cores.. Leaving you with virtually (no pun intended) 8 cores.. 6 cores is nice, but your only gonna see a difference if you are using heavy multi threaded applications like auto cad, video editing, game creation etc... So, unless you do that then I would not recommend the 200.00 difference. |

If you're gaming...just go with the 4 core. |

The more research I do, the more the 4 core looks better. I'm finding that benchmark wise there is not much difference between the 2700 and the higher 6 core 3980. As soon as I order my shit I'll post it so you guys can see what I bought. |
