Post Clorox's Tech support Guide
Hey Guys Ive decided to make a basic guide of tech support for those that have issues as a quick reference to.

PART I: Software issues

step1: check the system requirements of the game you are attempting to play (if you are trying to play on outdated or unsupported hardware you will likely have problems)
step2: Make sure you have updated drivers for all your hardware
step3: Make sure your game is fully patched and up to date aswell any anti cheat services such as punkbuster
step4: Virus/malwarescan
step5: search the web for possible solutions from other users
step6: Reformat if necessary

Part 2 Hardware issues:
Step 1: Verify all your hardware and connections are properly installed
step2: Monitor Temperatures (high temps can cause overheating and hardware damage or BSOD)
step3: Reset your bios setting to the default values or undo any overclocks (make sure your boot drive is still the harddrive with your os on it)
step4: Run a Memory and harddisk test to check for errors
step5: Make sure your Psu is not faulty
step 6: Assuming all your hardware and psu is good its likely a mobo issue

Misc Issues

If you have Vista/Win7 you may need to run the program in compatibilty mode or as an administrator
Check your Firewall and router settings as these may prevent incoming traffic and cause high amounts of disconnects
Check your ISp's modem they gave you for any issues

Modifying Game files (creating custom cfg's)

In most games it is possible to modify the visuals to run on very old hardware
This is ususally done by Searching the console commands of what you wish to lower and creating a cfg file in notepad. Then saving it in the Program files folder of your game. However keep in mind not all games allow this and some may even detect certain cfg's as cheats and repeatedly boot you, also most competitive leagues do not allow these and if you are caught you and your team will be disqualified.

I would like to add powercycling.. Especially if it is internet problems..

Just turn it off let it sit and turn back on..

Also, helps you determine if it is a heat issue or not..

When I worked at a help desk this solved 95% of problems.
