| Post subject: | LOW FPS in CSS |
Okay -- so, I bought a build-it-yourself computer (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBund ... mbo.789255), built it and it works great. However, I tried playing Source yesterday and was only getting 10 fps (I used to get a LOT more than that). Are there any settings that I should check on before just friggin' trying to change settings here and there, hoping that one of them works? Maybe change some config settings or anything? Any help you guys could give me would help -- I'm like a crack-head without his crack right now! I need my fix! No "upgrade to this" "upgrade that" answers, please. |

The first thing I notice is that you're using one of those newfangled APU chips: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5257/amd- ... 0k-a83670k These APU's are designed for those on a budget who want semi-playable gaming performance and the ability to overclock if desired. If you buy a real video card, you might need to upgrade that 430W PSU. |

Best you can do is an FPS config. Gman is right. If you got better frames on your old computer you should pull the PSU and GPU out and put them in your new one. A little research on it would've saved you a headache. |
