 What's a good PSU?
I just got a new graphics card that suggests 500w, and I currently have a 300w. I figure that I might as well upgrade my PSU more than 500w, so in the 600-700w range. Price-wise, preferably no more than 80$, definitely no more than 90$. Any suggestions? Just a quick search on newegg, i found: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817139028http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817371044

 Re: What's a good PSU?
If you can get a modular one I would recommend trying for that aswell. Having the ability to only have the cables needed saves so much space in your case if it's small like mine is.

 Re: What's a good PSU?
Definitely go modular with 600+ watts. also keep in mind peak wattage is not the most important thing, the Amps on the +12V rail (s) is more important

Here's the holy grail for PSU's Garrett. http://www.overclock.net/t/183810/faq-recommended-power-supplies Use that list as a reference to buying your PSU, it will be of great help when trying to determine if the PSU's you find online are worth the investment

 Re: What's a good PSU?
http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Cases-and- ... pert&pid=1I just ordered the 700W version of this, (the 600W version is on that list that Bleep posted.) Here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IZ ... 00_detailsIt has a $30 rebate right now (1/1/12) so it's actually $59. http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-500w-7 ... upply.htmlIf you want a much better (more expensive) PSU, look at PC Power & Cooling because those guys (owned by OCZ now) have always seemed to make the best PSUs but they cost about a third more (example: http://www.amazon.com/PC-Power-Cooling- ... 1APWI4F7OL) and I might just return the one I ordered and pick this one up which is actually my first choice. For even more efficiency, this is the top of the line for the same company (92% efficiency, completely modular): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004NMF9ES

 Re: What's a good PSU?
bought this one yesterday after extensive conversation with hooker and bleep: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817139006With a 5/5 rating after 2,376 votes... I'd say its a very smart purchase. Corsair is apparently the shit.
