What mobo goes with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819116492 ? All this LGA 2011 and such is making me doubt my choices. I was going to go with a ASUS P8Z68-V LX, but the reviews were almost all horrible, saying it's a cheap board... Any suggestions here? PS: I'll be posting the full build as soon as I get it all together. I wouldn't mind a few of you tech types looking at it all to make sure I'm not missing something or trying to get incompatible parts. |

Don't know how long you've been planning this or how soon you want it done by, but the Ivy bridges are coming out in March and could either save you some money or get something better if you want to wait that long. |

Hmmm... none of the matching mobos on neweeg have any review (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... ageSize=20). And just checking - you know that you about to pay double comparing to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115070 and get up to 30% more processing power? And that "up to 30%" is based on this one http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu ... 40+3.30GHz - the Extreme Edition one. Wait week or two for more reviews if you really want to go with the LGA2011. In the meantime look into the i7-2600K or i7-2700K and some Z68 based mobo. |

Hold out for Ivy Bridge. It's set to release late Q1/early Q2. Sandy Bridge E really isn't anything special, other than something to keep the market less boring... |

Exactly, and according to more realistic benchmarks that encompass more than one software suite *ahem* cpubenchmark/videocardbenchmark*ahem* the difference is more like 16%. Is 15% worth 200 more dollars? In my opinion, no. I think your best bet is to either get a 2500K, if you intend on primarily gaming. Otherwise if you plan on using heavy duty cpu programs then get a 2600K or honestly wait for Ivy Bridge. Hopefully Ivy Bridge will have more than a 17% increase. |

IMO, don't get anything new. And stay away from Asus. They're unreliable when it comes to motherboards. They'll have cold boot issues and unstable bios. |

If you need something now, just go with Sandybridge. Double the price for of a 2600k for a 3970k just does not seem worth it at all to me. I'm fixing to start a Sandybridge build myself |
