im using a 8800GT just yesterday, i was playing DotA. I played the first game fine with no problems. The second game, after the game had loaded and it was in the character selection phase. my video card seemed to fail and I ended up getting a BSOD. After a restart. i tried again. Once the game loaded i was getting video problems at the character selection phase again. i had to close warcraft 3. This hasn't happened to me before and i haven't done anything to my computer. Also, when watching videos on youtube. the screen will sometimes black out for a second. the screen will then return back to normal and there is a notification of a graphics driver failure. There is nothing wrong with temperatures, and I have the most up-to-date drivers for the video card. all 4gb of ram is being detected so that should not b a problem. i haven't tried to see if CS:S causes problems as well. please help! |

Oh yeah, back in vista, I would get a ton of what you said happened to you with youtube, but when I play HoN. In other words: When I used to play HoN on vista, the screen would go blank for a little and come back saying graphics driver failure. |

those are generated when the BSOD occurs, you can get those decoded to find out what exactly caused the crash |

I reformatted my computer. Everything is working so far. i will test out running games tomorrow and hope i don't BSOD. I think the problem ended up being a windows update. I may have installed an update that was "recommended" but it probably just ended up F*CKING me in the anus. Hopefully my problem is solved and I can come back on the server and pwn/get pwned. |

No, not an HP Laptop. It's a Desktop. I don't think it matters but it's an E6750 Core 2 Duo, with a P5N32-E SLI, 4Gb of Ram, and BFG GeForce 8800GT. Also, seems like my problem hasn't fully been solved yet. After a reformat, although I could watch youtube videos at 1080p without any problems, the graphics card still failed after trying to run World of Warcraft. I'm running out of ideas, my last resorts are to either see if I can get the card replaced or buy a new card. Don't really want to do that if it is unnecessary though. |

how'd you decode the minidump btw? Have you tried posting a thread in a community tech support forum? My all-time fave is techspot.com |

It happened to my laptop and the bastards wouldn't support warranty on my laptop. my laptop has the same exact problem except it will only run in 4bit color mode @ 640x480 resolution. |

LOL. well. i cleaned out the heat sink on the video card, still no good there. i tried a different power supply, that didn't help. and i took out my video card and put in a borrow GT 220. I am currently using this until i get a new video card. it seems to be working fine. So im assuming my old video card is just fucked. There is a program to download the dump decoder. can't remember what it was called but it was a pretty simple find on google. |
