So, my graphics have been f'ed for a couple of weeks now. I got this computer in April of last year and ti ran smooth for everything except LOTRO, which would cause Windows to reset my graphics occasionally. The last week or two, my graphics have been crashing outside of LOTRO. It seems to mostly been when opening/closing something, but not always. It's acting like an overheating issue, but I really doubt that's the case. My temp monitors are showing 40 C at tops. Last night my graphics totoally crashed and I wasn't able to get a signal through several restarts. I just removed the Crossfire and went with a single card and I got a signal. My issue now is that it's reading my monitor as a secondary monitor. I can't see my real desktop to edit any settings :( I am running 2 4870's. Any suggestions? |

Im just gonna throw some shit out there, don't know if it will help.First i would use the other dvi output. If that didn't work i would try safe mode.If that didn't work i would take out both cards and fire it up for a a few minutes let it see theirs no video and then just hold the button to switch it off then replace card.Maybe you can trick it in to bypassing the drivers.Cat is still using the other card in sli even though your not using it anymore.I'm sure theirs an easy fix but im lost brah.I once did something similar and had to drag a tv in to hook up to s video to change my primary monitor. They dont put s video outs on cards anymore so that doesn't help you. |

I used it so much and now I have to spend 40+ on an HDMI cable. Thank god my LCD TV has a VGA. also, even if your primary is reading as your secondary and you cant see your main desktop..cant you still right click and select properties? If that works but opens the properties on what should be your primary desktop, you can just guess and click and drag the window over until you get it and it slides. or maybe I'm totally off track. I'm baked, sue me. |
