play Half-Life 2 and HL2 Eps 1&2 Trying to start up steam "No connection to steam network can be made" and offline won't work. |

Open steam: Click on the My Games tab: Right click the game you want to play: Click properties: Click the Local Files tab: Click Verify integrity of game cache... That should help, it's fixed my problems more than once. |

Either that or there is something that stupid steam needs to have sex with online first before it can commence self-sex offline. |
