How to install CZ skins A. DL B. Place in correct directory. C. Place sound in correct directory. D. +5 luck. You need winrar because most skin files are in rar. format. Find a site with skins... CS-Nation is a very high quality site with reviews of each skin and has very clean skins. I think you need a free account to download from there. FPS Banana is THE site for skins, not just for CZ but CS CSS and a dozen other games. Some skins suck, some skins rock. Also it very conveniently tells you what the skin comes with, (sounds, player models) CS nation does not. I keep picking up a thing on my firewall called "metists" or something like that so I'd be careful. Don't click any of the ads... Find a skin for the proper game. I am pretty sure CS skins work in CZ but I am not sure bout vice versa so you can check both those out. DL the skin. No account needed at FPS Banana Place it in a folder you'll remember like "CS Skins" on the desktop. Open the file (usually with winrar.) Now what you are looking for is P V and W models of the same weapon. (v_ak47, w_ak47, p_ak47) The v model is the weapon you see in first person mode. w is the view when the weapon is on the ground.(world) p is the player holding the gun model.(player) These go to this directory C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\YourAccount\condition zero\czero\models You don't need all three of these in order for the skin to function properly, they work independently.That means if you just want to see the gun in first person, because your computer sucks and is losing frame rates because of weapon skins, place only the v model in the folder. Weapon sounds go in C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\YourAccount\condition zero\czero\sounds\weapons If you don't have correct sounds or none at all the weapon may sound odd (animations have no sound, only hear bullet hit due to no firing sound) Sprites (How the gun looks in the orange box on the top when you change weapons.) go to... You Guessed It! C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\YourAccount\condition zero\czero\sprites C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\Gman\counter-strike \cstrike\models ^^ thats the CS directory for the models... (Gman=YourAccount) Do not worry about backing up files because in \steamapps there is a HUGE file holding all the defaults of CZ and CS (and every other game) and it reverts to these if it don't detect any models. (move your "models" folder out and it goes back to normal.) Make sure your weapon sounds are named right. "usp1" is the silenced version. "usp_unsil-1" is the unsilenced version. So Yeah. Make sure the directories and names are correct and have fun. |
