I am trying to uninstall Steam because I can't get the 1.6 server list to pop up. Anyway, I can't even uninstall correctly. It gives me an error in the add and remove programs deal that says it couldn't locate install.log file or something to that effect. Can anyone help me uninstall? |

Did you try just deleting the Counter-Strike folder? |

I just deleted the one after the account name and the CStrike folder in the Condition Zero folder. Now reinstall and it will reinstall only those folders? |

You might be getting that error because you deleted the Steam folder first before going to add/remove programs list, or at least that's genuinly the case for me. Sometimes if you're having issues with CZ/CS or any game in Steam you can just delete the folder name after your account name. So I think it would go something like Steam/Steamapps/(username)/Cstrike. You delete that folder and when you reenter the game through Steam it'll refresh all the basic components for running the game. If that doesn't work then...IDK, never had to reinstall Steam... :? |

You might even have to go into your registry and delete the valve files in there.***WARNING*** screwing around in there can have big consequences. |

I'll post screenies of the error that CS is giving me. But I reinstalled after deleting the CS folder, unistalled completely because it would let me, and thenreinstalled only to have the same error when trying to pull up the game list. I will post the ss of the error message in a bit. |

It gives me this after grinding and trying to find the servers. Any tips as to what I can do after I already uninstalled and reinstalled?

I get that at times. I exit out of steam and reopen it and it works. |

zMassacre wrote: i had to reformat it for it to work ... You're talkin to the dude that couldn't uninstall properly. How do I reformat? Because it isn't just a problem of exiting Steam or restarting because I have had the problem for a couple months. |
