best way to convert pics that you have...
is to open them with microsoft Paint.
then do a Save As...
filename
make sure you select save as .jpeg or .jpg from the drop down menu by the name of the file

I actually just ran into this problem. I searched on google for a "free online image converter" and then I switched from a .gif to a .jpeg and it all worked.
