| Post subject: | Video Card Help |
Need some help with a video car problem. Right now I don't have one and I run off of integrated graphics. I have PCI slots (not PCI express). This is the card that I am thinking about getting-Interface: PCI - Card Chipset: ATI - Installed Memory: 256MB - Memory Interface: 128 bit. Will this help with my FPS? And secondly should this allow me to finally play source finally. Here is some general info on my CPU - Dell Dimension 3000 Pentuim 4 2.80GHz 512 MB of RAM Right now I sport a solid 35-50 FPS in CZ with 0 choke and 0 loss. To do this my RES has to be 800X700. Oh yeah and I use cable internet, any help would be great! |

Pretty much almost any card will blow away the internal video card. You have either 32mb or 64mb of video memory internally. So going to a 256mb card will be a definite improvment. Almost consider getting more RAM. Had 512 in my ytebefore adding an additional 1GB. Again a nice improvement. As for the pc being a Dell, don't worry about it. I have a Dell Precision 380 workstation. |

PCI will not have nearly the same about of BUS speed as the intergrated graphix does.. but the processing power will be much greater.. you could try and make a fat or headsink to stick on the card you have now and overclock it or just get that card and some ram.. youd be set then |
