I see this question asked alot:
"Omgz, how do I use teh ventrilo!?!1"
Well, I'm going to write a guide for you. So, here ya go.
STEP 1 ) Download the Windows client at: http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php (*make sure you get the latest version of the CLIENT download NOT THE SERVER*)
STEP 2 ) Install Ventrilo.
STEP 3 ) Click on the arrow next to "Username" (1)
STEP 4 ) Click on "New" and then type in your desired Username. (you don't have to use your [n00b] tag.)
STEP 5 ) Click "Ok" and then click "Ok" again.
STEP 6 ) Click on the arrow next to Server (2)
STEP 7 ) Click new, call it n00bfest, and fill in the following fields:
Hostname or IP: vent2.clanservers.com
Port Number: 4337
STEP 8 ) Click "Ok"
STEP 9 ) Click Connect.
Now, you may be wondering, "OMG HOW DO I LYKE TALK!?!?1/" Well, wonder no further, my friend.
STEP 10 ) Click Setup beneath where it says 'Connect'.
STEP 11 ) Under setup, you will want to bind a key to talk with. To do this,
1) Check the "Use Push-To-Talk Hotkey" box.
2) A bit further down, click in the 'Hotkey:' box and press the button you wish to use. I use left alt, you may want to use mouse3 or any other random key.
Now, while we are here, for future reference, you can change the volume of your voice by using the Outbound and Inbound sliders near the bottom right. (3)
STEP 12 ) Now, just click 'Ok.' and talk away!
To navigate channels, double click to the channel you wish to join. The ones with red symbols next to them are passworded. You can only get the password from an Admin or the owner of that channel.
