This is typically caused by a bad Steam install or something got corrupted on your existing Steam installation.

The easiest fix for this problem is to delete this file (usual location):

c:\program files\valve\steam\clientregistry.blob

If that doesn't fix this problem then your best bet is to uninstall Steam using the add/remove in the control panel.

Do you have to end every sentence with an exclamation point? It makes my e-ears bleed.

Anyways, I dunno what to say to help you, but alot of people have been getting this error alot, so I'm thinking steam will come out with a fix soon. If not, that sucks.

Post subject:

ok sorry I missed a step:

1.find file
2.delete file
3.restart steam/computer*
4.play game

*the file will show back up and that's ok it's supposed to, but you have to make shure that you restart steam BEFORE you try and play, steam has to update*
