I have read the sticky on increasing rate and ping, but my computer for some reason, will only allow my FPS to be at 60. I was wondering if having it any higher would do anything for me, and if so, what do I need to do so it can go above 60? Thanks for your help, RC |

If you're on an LCD monitor you're fucked because of VSync. |

I have a Samsung LCD I believe, so there is no way to increase, or does it even matter? |

On an LCD there is no way to increase it. Honestly I don't think it matters since the human eye can't differentiate past 24 fps. |

IT DOEsn't MatterZ. 60 fps is perfect. YOUR EYES CAN ONLY UNDERSTAND 60 FPS KKTHXGG. So 60 fps means you are good, and you pwn. If you can't get 60 fps on cz, you should get a new computer. |

To Rajun: I use an LCD monitor and I get 100 FPS constant. Go to your graphics properties and disable VSync. Pillmatic wrote: my fps is 72, is that good or bad? n00b question i know... I think I can fix yours. In console, type "fps_max 101" and tell me if your fps changes to 100. |

I dont see how to get to V-Sync to disable it. Do I just right click on the desktop and then go to NVDIA G-Force 6200? I am assuming that I mess with the V-Sync here, but I still cant find it. Any tips? |

I am assuming that I mess with the V-Sync here, but I still cant find it. Any tips? I'll edit in screenshots when I get home. I have a GeForce FX5500 or whatever, so it should be similar. But for now.. I guess I can try and remember the steps. Right click your desktop --> Properties. Go to the Settings tab and click the button "Advanced." At the top, your GeForce 6200 should have its own little tab, and pop out with a fancy menu on the left side. (Mine does.) Find OpenGL/3D settings. There should be things such as Antialiasing/VSync/etc. Change VSync from "Application Controlled" to "Off" and proceed to CZ. You probably won't notice much difference because of how much FPS the eye can see.. but it's cool to know you have 100 FPS. :/ Also, make sure your fps_max is set to 100 or higher. |

So is there any advantage to having 100 fps rather than 60? |

This is a Q for an expert: If you have 60 while staring at a wall, and it goes to about 30 while in the midst of battle, is it better to have 100? |

This isn't true... For air-strafing, its better to have higher FPS because you supposedly stay in the air "longer" and have better control. Turn VSync off, set fps_max to 999. Kicked: try this, you should feel better air control while strafing. |

Why would you want more then 60 anyways? 30 frames is the limit your eye can see anyway.... vsync is always on mine just cause im on a lcd and when you go higher you will get some tearing. |
