i got my comp. running by switching back too my older video card but for some freakin' reason Counter-Strike:Cz and Cs:S run sooooooo much faster. I don't see how this is possible since cs:cz and cs:s r newer games!?

Maybe there was a compatibility issue, I personally know nothing about hardware but if you post up some actual information, maybe someone smarter than me can "help". Even though it seems like you solved this one yourself.

Possibly the broken video card had some hardware issues causing it to run slower before it died. Could have been a POS to begin with.

bad drivers... usually if a videocard isnt performing the way it should with a game it has to do with the drivers....

Vision hit the nail on the head.

My new X850 Pro actually gets less FPS than my 9800 Pro, but my graphics are much much better with this video card. I never changed my video settings for the games when I installed this card and I got less fps but the graphics were better, not as much tearing or blurriness. I guess it was worth the trade off.
