I zoinked my last motherboard to crap trying to get it to run 8X AGP.

Right now I got an Asus A8V Deluxe. The ABIT 939 pin took me all day to get running then it gayed me by having to install windows with taskmgr.exe all just to not recognise any hardware. I'm tired of F*CKING with that thing, and it's going back tommorrow.

AMD 64 3200+ 939 pin
Asus A8V Deluxe
ATi x800 Pro
Antec 480 watt PS (bought it today)

I set it to 8X, restarted, it went back to OFF. Why, idunno. Everything on the mobo is set at 8X.

The last time I fucked around with chipset and bios, I was out of a PC for another week.

If anyone knows of a chipset that works, please let me know. Otherwise, call me a retard or something.

did you turn on the agp 8x support in the BIOS?

I switched back to the ASUS A8V Deluxe that I thought I burned up that night you helped me. Basically the hardware didn't want to get along.

Before that I had been trying / using an ABIT but it sucked. I just got finished packing it back up to return. Nice design, but installing windows like a contra cheat code is rediculous this day and age.

Hippie. I have enough extra parts to build 2 nice gaming rigs. lol

Gonna return what I can then keep the rest to build a second PC or whatever.
