my computer screen has been going retarded in the past few days. at first it would go dim for like a second, then go back to normal. as the days progressed it eventually reached a point when it would go from dim to dimmer, then flashing inbetween the 2. then the resolution started going retrded(the things on the screen were kinda distorted). now my screen will only stay on for like a second then the picture will disappear until i turn it on and off again and it will still only stay on for one second.

question: is it my monitor or my computer itself?? should i get a new monitor?

If you can turn teh monitor off then on to fix the problem, I would think it's the monitor. It dimming out also sounds like the monior. idk but thats where I'd start and if your poor you might be able to take you monitor to BEST BUY or somwhere similar to have them test it, or hook it up to another/friends computer to see it it still happens.

dude that sounds like what happened to MySpoonIsTooBig's laptop (room mate) and yeah he had to fix some bulb in the moniter which would have cost a few hundred dollars. he ended up buying a new laptop

well i juss figured out that it was the monitor, the bulb was dying out. i figure that ill juss get a new monitor this weekend then.


UPDATE* i juss got it. its a 19" MAG widescreen...on sale at best buy
