I have a soundcard that allows me to connect my speakers in the rear it has a slot for microphone which is also a side surround sound speaker input (when you plug a jack in a propt on windows asks what is it (mic or side souround speakerS) and i also have 2 plugs in fron of my computer 1 for headphones the other for the microphone.

My headseat was working fine yesterday i only use the front mic port to use my microphone. Last night i went to a lan everything was working but now im home i plug in my headphones and the damn computer wont recognize any sound input

ive gone through the test hardware wizard to see if it picks it up but it doesnot pick up my voice, ive changed from "rear mic" to "mic" in the volume properties and even tried connecting the mic to the rear jack instead still with out any ability to record my sound. Can anyone help me?

The fron jack works for my head phones just not the mic part.
Really annoying please help
